Homeowner Assistance Available through Alaska Housing Corp

Homeowners now have the opportunity to apply for Alaska Housing Homeowner Assistance, part of the congressionally approved American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. Designed to offer relief to Alaska homeowners facing pandemic-related financial hardships, this program is intended to prevent mortgage delinquencies and the loss of critical services.

The City of Thorne Bay Household Economic Relief Assistance Grant is designed to provide CARES Act funds for utility, food or fuel assistance to households located within the City of Thorne Bay that have suffered an economic hardship as a result of the COVID-19 public health emergency. An ‘economic hardship’ means, as a result of the COVID-19 public health emergency, personal or household disposable income has decreased and/or normal personal or household expenses have increased, such that it has been impossible or difficult to make ends meet and/or any money reserves of the applicant have been and/or are being significantly expended.
