Thorne Bay Residential Utility & Grocery Assistance Grant Application

The City of Thorne Bay is providing residents with another round of relief funds from the State of Alaska CARES program to help mitigate the effects of COVID-19.  While the full impact of COVID-19 on our country is still unknown, it has already significantly disrupted the lives of many, including most Thorne Bay residents.

The City has allocated funding for the purpose of alleviating the economic strain families and individuals may have experienced as a result of increased prices for food, lost work time, reduced working hours, lack of childcare, or other lost income.

APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY

1. Be a resident of Thorne Bay prior to December 1, 2020

Each household within Thorne Bay city limits is eligible for $750.00 in CARES funding from the City. Payments will be provided toward your choice of your Thorne Bay City Utility Account and/or a Gift Card to the Thorne Bay Market.

Applications must be submitted by Friday, December 18, 2020 by 12pm. Only complete applications will be considered.  One application per household.

All households are strongly encouraged to apply for this funding.  As of December 30, 2020, any remaining CARES funding in the City Account will be returned to the State of Alaska.
