POSITIVE COVID-19 CASE IN THORNE BAY

Thorne Bay City staff was notified by Alaska Public Health on Thursday, November 12, 2020, of the SECOND confirmed COVID-19 case in Thorne Bay. Public Health and the Alaska Division of Epidemiology are currently conducting a case investigation.

Governor Dunleavy Urges Alaskans to Take Immediate Action to Slow COVID-19

Governor Dunleavy is taking the following executive actions:
On Monday, November 16 at 12:01 a.m. his new 30-day COVID-19 disaster declaration takes effect. Effective immediately all State employees are to work from home whenever feasible. Face masks and social distancing are now mandatory at State work sites for both employees and visitors.

IFA WILL RESUME SAILING WITH MV STAKINE

On Friday October 30th, the Inter-Island Ferry Authority (IFA) will resume operations with the M/V Stikine. We will return to our six day a week schedule, 100 passenger capacity. The IFA would like to acknowledge our appreciation for the AMHS and the crew of the Lituya for providing service to our communities while we completed this overhaul.
