HELP WANTED – Part-time terminal agent in Ketchikan

The Inter-Island Ferry Authority is accepting applications for Permanent Part-time Terminal Agent at the Ketchikan Terminal. Duties include customer service, booking reservations, cash/credit card handling, daily reporting, assisting with vessel line handling, janitorial, security, and other duties as assigned by IFA Terminal Supervisor. Position pays $15 per hour and is 20 hours per week Thursdays through Sundays, in addition to fill-in shifts. Benefits include 4 hours vacation and sick accrued monthly, holiday pay and IFA travel.

Due to high wind warning for Friday October 1, 2021, the IFA will depart Ketchikan at 1:00PM and arrive in Hollis at 4:00PM. Your safety is our priority and we appreciate your understanding for this change in schedule. All other sailing times are unchanged.

Help Wanted – IFA Assistant Port Engineer

The Inter-Island Ferry Authority is now accepting applications for an Assistant Port Engineer. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) benefited position based in Ketchikan, Alaska. The Assistant Port Engineer reports directly to the Port Engineer and typically works 8 hours day, 5 days a week. This individual is part of the team that maintains, repairs, and improves 2 passenger/vehicle vessels and equipment. Mechanical ability a must. Certificates and licenses from trade schools, machine shops or USCG preferred but not required.

Please be advised that the IFA has cancelled sailings for July 19 and 20, 2021 due to a mechanical issue, and the vessel is currently in Ketchikan undergoing repairs. We are sailing Wednesday and are adding a 2nd sailing KTN to HYL, and here is the revised sailing schedule.
