USDA Rural Development Business and Industry (B&I) CARES Act Program Webinars

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is making available up to $1 billion in loan
guarantees to help rural businesses meet their working capital needs during the coronavirus pandemic. Additionally, agricultural producers that are not eligible for USDA Farm Service Agency loans may receive funding under USDA Business & Industry (B&I) CARES Act Program provisions included in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
 
B&I CARES Act Program loans must be used as working capital to prevent, prepare for or
respond to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. The loans may be used only to support rural businesses, including agricultural producers, that were in operation on Feb. 15, 2020.
 
The Department begins accepting applications on May 22, 2020. Applications must be received no later than midnight Eastern Daylight Time on June 22, 2020, or until funds are expended. Program funding expires Sept. 30, 2021.
 
Eligible applicants may contact their local USDA Rural Development State Office in the state where the project is located.
 
Eligible Program Applicants: Federal or State-Chartered Banks, Savings and Loans, Farm Credit Banks, Credit Unions

Second Teletown Hall with Senators

Senators Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan are going to have another teletown hall this Thursday April 9, at 9:15pm ET (5:15pm Alaska time) re COVID-19.

  IFA 4-Day Sailing Schedule Update:

The IFA will provide ferry service on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays through Monday May 18, 2020. The IFA will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as additional changes are implemented.

Travel is limited to essential critical business and personal travel only. Some examples of essential critical travel include people returning home, people traveling for critical medical care, people transporting essential products or people providing critical services.

Ferry departure and arrival times remain unchanged; we’ll depart Hollis at 8:00am and depart Ketchikan at 3:30pm. Terminals will be closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, but IFA Agents are available by phone at 866-308-4848 and by email seven days a week.

NEWS RELEASE: COVID-19 | MUNICIPAL BUILDING CLOSURES

The City of Thorne Bay will close to the public as of March 17th through March 31st, 2020.

In an abundance of caution the City of Thorne Bay is following the State of Alaska’s COVID-19 Legislation, and the Federal (CDC) guidelines and limiting all physical interactions with the public.

As such, Municipal Offices will be closed to the public but open for business via telephone and email.
