State of Alaska General Election Absentee Voting

Absentee in-person voting for the November 6th State of Alaska General Election is available weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at City Hall, 120 Freeman Drive, through November 5th. Questions regarding absentee voting may be answered by the Division of Elections Absentee Office at 1-877-375-6508 or by visiting their website at http://www.elections.alaska.gov/Core/votingbeforeelectionday.php.

Voter Registration
To be eligible to vote in General Municipal Elections, you must be a registered voter.
The 2019 General Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019.
Polling Location: City Hall, Council Chambers, 120 Freeman Drive, Thorne Bay, AK  99919
If you are not registered to vote:
·         Forms are available through the City Clerk’s office, 120 Freeman Drive, Thorne Bay, AK 99919
·         Or online: https://voterregistration.alaska.gov/
 Reminding residents to register to vote is a courtesy.  Residents can’t vote in the city election or run for city council unless they’re registered to vote in the city. 
Polling Place location was City Hall, Council Chambers, 120 Freeman Drive, Thorne Bay, AK  99919 - 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Election Worker Information

Thank you for your interest in joining our Election Team, as an Election worker for Thorne Bay.  Becoming an Election Worker is a very important decision and requires making a serious commitment to the Team.

Election Workers are paid for the hours they work each Election day.

Also, a Election Worker is required to:

  1. be a registered voter in Thorne Bay
  2. have reliable transportation
  3. be able to work at least 14 hours on Election Day (no shifts)
  4. be able to fulfill your schedule if hired

After reading through the above information and feel you can meet the requirements, you may submit the application to the office of the City Clerk at 120 Freeman Drive, Thorne Bay, AK  99919, for processing.

The City Council appoints Election Judges at their second meeting in September each year.  If you are selected to serve as an Election Worker, you will be notified by the Clerks Office the following day (third Wednesday of September).
