SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Saturday August 3, 2019
9:00 am – People involved in the parade gather at the Bay Chalet to organize
9:30 am – Parade leaves Bay Chalet, goes through town, and ends at the Church of Thorne Bay
9:45 am – Parade Awards at the Church of Thorne Bay
9:30 – 10:00 – Registration for Fun Run under the covered area at the top of the dock. Thorne Bay Runner’s Club Event.
10:00 – Fun Run racers start their run on the road by the Harbor Master’s Building.
10:15ish – Kayak Safety Talk at the top of the dock
10:30ish – Kayak Races Start
11:15 – Family fun games begin. Horseshoes, Foosball, Treasure Hunt, kids’ games, Kids face-painting, bowling, etc…
11:30 –Soap Box Derby Talk and Demonstration followed Directly by the Soap Box Derby
11:00-1:00 PM – Lunch under the park pavilion, provided by Tongass Federal Credit Union as part of their “Member Appreciation Day”
1:00 – Kayak Raffle/Pictures of Kayak winners and Derby winners to be taken
outside of City Hall
Thorne Bay Days Events are wrapped up by 2PM –
BUT WAIT –
2:00 – Softball game up at the ballfield – everybody is welcome to play
Events that will be happening between 10 am and 2 pm – Toss Across, Face Painting, Kids Games, blow-up Bowling, Treasure Hunt, Human Foosball and Horse Shoes;
after 2PM – softball!
