Rock Blasting & Road Closure August 28th – Noon to 3:00pm. Blasting will occure between Mile 2.0 and 3.0 on the Kasaan to Goose Creek Road.

The Thorne Bay Library is looking for a Volunteer Librarian

The Thorne Bay Library is looking for a Volunteer Librarian. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to deal with the public in a friendly and professional manner
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to cooperate & work within a team framework
  • Understand library concepts/methodology
  • Ability to administer library budget and grants

Applications are due not later than September 13th by 4:00 p.m.

TRAFFIC NOTICE – ROAD CLOSURE

KASAAN/GOOSE CREEK ROAD CLOSURE BETWEEN 10 AM – 4 PM AUGUST 26 – SEPTEMBER 15TH

Rock Blasting and Road Closure Kasaan to Goose Creek Road Project

The Kasaan to Goose Creek Road will be closed during rock blasting. Rock blasting will be conducted on an as needed basis, from 10 am to 4 pm, between mile 2.0 and 3.0. Blasting activities are scheduled to begin beginning approximately August 26 and continue until September 15, 2019.

A 24-hour notice will be provided when blasting is scheduled to occur.

There will be a workshop meeting is open to the public for the purpose of:

  1. Discussing the proposed Sales Tax Increase Ballot Measure to be voted on at the October 1st, 2019, Municipal Election, and
  2. Establishing interest in appointing a Health and Safety Council for the City of Thorne Bay.

Anyone interested in joining in on the workshop and/or serving on the Health and Safety Council for the City of Thorne Bay is invited to attend.
